As part of Technology Week 2017, 19 Year 9 and 10 students became business analysts for the day at Statistical Analysis System (SAS). The trip was part of an initiative aiming to drive the next generation’s interest in studying STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) subjects and joining the technology industry. Students met experts from all parts of the business, enjoyed some corporate hospitality and toured the extensive grounds that included a golf course, 5-a-side pitch and games room.
Students were given the unique opportunity to take on the role of business analysts and solve a real life business problem using SAS Visual Analytics. They presented their solutions to the group and seven members of the SAS team, who judged the winning pitch. The standard was high and a huge congratulation goes to Helen Windsor, Fiona Pullman, Joe Bedford and Jozef Batterberry who made up the winning team.
