International Women’s Day

To mark International Woman’s Day Ms Morbey, of the English Department, led a fiery debate in her classroom where students and staff aired their views about the emotive topic of feminism.

The classroom was packed with as many male students as females. The statements of the agent provocateurs brought out heartfelt rebuttals from some, and certainly brought the debate alive.

The attendance showed a healthy interest, among GMS students, for the important issue of feminism.

Many famous people have had their words recorded for prosperity. To finish, here is a statement by Emmeline Pankhurst, ‘I myself have never able to find out precisely what a feminist is. I only know that people call me a feminist whenever I express sentiments that differentiate me from a doormat.’
