Year 8 Trip to London

On Friday 23rd September the Design and Technology Department took 210, Year 8, students on a trip to London to help with primary research for their current project entitled, “Through the eyes of a tourist”. The students identified problems or opportunities for their design project during a guided tour around Westminster on a Routemaster bus, some of the stops included the changing of the guard at Horse Guard Parade, St James Park, Buckingham Palace, and the London Eye.
Whilst on the tour the students took part in a photo challenge and these pictures have become the starting point for the design challenge. Each group is now collating all of their research in class and starting the design and prototyping stage of the project.
The tour guides commented on how they have conducted a number of school trips, but how this group of students were the best they had guided, due to their behaviour and interest in the tour.
